Our first interior design award!

Pano-Lobby3.jpg

White Design is proud to announce our latest accolade—a Cincinnati Magazine Interior Design Award recognizing our design for JP Flooring's new facility in West Chester. We've always thought it was some of our best work and apparently now it's confirmed. All the winners will be published in the November issue of Cincinnati Magazine - look for it on your newstands!

Visit "award winning" JP Flooring at 9700 Union Centre Drive or visit their website (we designed that too!) at JPFlooring.com

A night at the Oscars

Well, okay, not exactly. But Fischer Homes came to us with the challenge of designing an Oscar theme for their RSVP Party with Guardian Homes Technology on September 29, 2005. We're pleased to report that it was a star-studded success. The Fischer Homes Lifestyle Design Center in Ft Thomas, Kentucky, hosted the event, and Guardian brought in staff from all over the country.

It is hard to believe that this time last year we were hard at work planning and developing the Design Center. Now with a host of White Design Studio-assisted RSVP events under our belts, we feel like we're old pros. The crowd came out and when the lights went down, a great time was had by all.

Garden Variety

My Dad's farm in Columbus is a favorite place to go and relax. I always take my camera and always find something to photograph. Here's one of his garden.

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines! - Part One

Two corporate events in one week makes for a busy week! JP Flooring, Shaw industries and Anso Nylon joined forces to sponsor a day of racing at the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky. We came up with the "Floor It" theme and designed special drivers' confirmation packs and gifts for all guests. Richard Petty Driving School offers these special events to a select group of companies. JP was lucky enough to lock in 2 sessions on September 23 from 3-9pm. Over 50 drivers participated. Each experienced 8 laps on the 1-1/2 mile 13° banked track—in a real NASCAR racecar. 650 horsepower and top speeds of 160 MPH tested the skill of all who dared to jump in a driving suit and pull on a helmet.

Unfortunately, a brewing rain storm literally put a damper on the evening and prevented those in the second group from completing their laps. The rain delay date is in a couple of weeks, so we'll be posting pictures of the event as soon as everyone's made it to the winner's circle!

Light Time…Light Place

Central Light has been hosting golf outings for years. This year we were able to assist them in putting together a first class event. In fact, one of the pros from The Grizzly Golf Course remarked that we put together the best looking golf event he'd ever seen - Central Light invitation/score cards, "Gambler" straw hats, cigars and matches, hole flags, decoration flags and banners, beer holders, golf bag tags all combined to brand the event. The blue and gold of the Central Light logo was as omni-present as the green of the course itself. It was a great opportunity to let their best customer and suppliers know about the new building AND announce their new look. The rain held off until just after the 100+ golfers hit the clubhouse for refreshments and dinner. We even photographed the event to record the day. Click here for photos.

White Design Studio has hosted and designed dozens of events—from Shareholders' Meetings to Retirement Parties—it's one of our specilaties. We would like the opportunity to design your next special event. It's sure to be one for you AND your clients to remember. Come back soon for details of more events.

The energy that propels aviation

You guessed it. Another new corporate identity. It seems to happen the same way every time. A client comes in for a brochure and leaves with a comprehensive corporate identity package.
Arrow Energy is a supplier of jet fuel to various airports around the country. They needed buiness cards, letterhead, postcards, a brochure and finally, a web site. We we're able to help them with all of their needs and the results speak for themselves.

A Whole New Look

JuliasLogo.jpgJulia's clothing store has been a fixture in Cincinnati for over 50 years. When second generation owner Suzy Jacobs decided to move her store to a little house in Madeira, she asked around about store design and was directed to White Design. As is the case in a lot of situations, Peter convinced Suzy that now was the right time to update their whole brand. Here is the brand new Julia's on Camargo logo.

The newly remodeled store—also designed by White Design—opened in early June. Once fall merchadise arrives we'll photograph the interiors and post them for everyone to see so you can get the full tour. Or better yet - stop in and see the store for yourself! Here's picture of the exterior sign. A perfect 3-D representation of the logo, it was produced with a piece of frosted plex for the dress.

Welcome!

Well, here it is... our first BLOG! For the uninitiated, a blog (short for 'weblog') is an online journal that allows us to post 'entries' whenever we like. All of us at White Design have wanted a vehicle to inform and enlighten our friends, family, clients, vendors and anyone else who might be interested, as to what we're up to. The White Stuff is it! It might be the announcement of a new team member, a chance to show off some new projects that we are excited about or just a place to relay interesting news. We hope you'll tune in from time to time. Feel free to send us your comments—it's easy AND fun!

Feel free to join our mailing list and we'll send you brief updates every month or so. If you are already on our list and want to be removed, (why would you want to do that?) please feel free to let us know.
