Over the past year we have designed 7 Selection Centers for Maple Street Homes. Located in the model's garage, these showrooms are designed to show new homeowners all the options in materials and finishes available for their new home. Plasma screens show photos of exterior treatments as well as providing internet access to all vendor information. We designed the space, fixturing and graphics. Another example of our "soup to nuts" capabilities.
Ok, one from the heart. I purchased this boat for $70 in 1978 with the idea that it would be a perfect sailing trainer for my first offspring. (I wasn't even dating anyone yet alone married) Well, my first born is 22 and I just got around to restoring this little "nut".
Built in Oslo Norway in 1941, the Danish Peanut is only 11' long but for what it lacks in length, it makes up for with personality (I know its owner). Good friend, client and master woodworker, Mike Stohm helped with the restoration providing new book-matched mahogany rails and other improvements. Sailor's Tailor in Yellow Springs duplicated the unique blue sail.
It's maiden voyage was on the familiar waters of Hoover Reservoir in Columbus on a blustery (20-30 MPH) day. My expert sailing brother, Mark and I took turns trying to break - I mean sail—the historic craft. Here's a cool black and white shot busting through the intimidating 8" waves.
