It's here! 48" long, 135 pounds, 8 colors—Our new plotter doubles as a press proofer. API Printing has installed this really cool tool to help sreamline our printing workflow with one of our clients. The fringe benefit is now we have this awesome machine to use in our everyday projects. Just another tool in our ever-growing arsenal of toys (I mean tools) to help us visualize and create award winning designs for your business.
White Design Studio is celebrating its 15th year, and I have the scars to prove it. 2 offices, 3 tons of furniture, 9 yards of peripherals, 18 employees, 63 computers, 437 clients, 1324 vendors, 4523 jobs, and an ever-growing repertoire of client services. WOW! The year we started, JFK became a movie, the Soviet Union became history, and Al Gore had not yet invented the internet.
As part of our celebration we've decided to feature a series of blog entries highlighting bits of White Stuff that we’ve pulled out from between the couch cushions. We even designed a little mark to commemorate our big event. Look for this on stories from the White Stuff vault.

Sometimes we forget what a nice environment we have to work in. Springtime is one of Mariemont's most picturesque and our office has a ring-side seat to all mother nature has to offer. Next time you are in the "hood" stop in and smell the roses. Our doors are literally open to all visitors. Check out the view!

White Design Studio is proud to announce our most recent addition, Thomas Dangerfield. Thomas has been talking to us for months and we feel he's a perfect addition to our diverse team of artisans. He is a graduate of University of Cincinnati's DAPP program, a photographer, architect, graphic designer, video editor, copy writer and oh yeah, a musician. We're excited to work with him and anxious to use all his talents on future projects.
BTW Thomas is an expert Photoshop artist. He specializes in architectural photoillustrations and can very quickly give us and our clients a realistic look at our designs. View a sample rendering here.
Every year or so, we update our web site to better represent our work and keep things current. This year we have changed the categories we use to organize our projects. We have combined Interactive and Internet into one category called Interactive. This includes web sites, interactive kiosks, databases - or just anything electronic.
We've also added a new category called Events. We have been organizing, designing and building graphics and displays for events for several clients for years now, and recently we've decided that it warranted its own category. Think of us when you are planning that next corporate event or outing. We'll handle everything from a theme to pre-event mailers and invitations to on-site decor, photography and give-a-ways. Who else can do all that?
Filemaker, for those of you who have never heard of it, is a relational database software package that allows for total customization. The newest version is simply awesome: Cross platform, web based, kiosk mode. It allows for ongoing improvement and increased capabilities. I froth at the mouth just talking about it (Don't get me started). We've used Filemaker to run our business since the beginning and we owe a lot to it. It has made us more efficient, better organized and just generally cooler. I vowed to write a new version of the software that we use everyday here at White Design and launch it January 1, 2006. Although I missed it by a few days, I am happy to say it is now up and running. I would also like to thank my personal trainer/programmer, Mike Bell, for helping with our solution. VM+SD (Visual Merchandising and Store Design) Magazine, the retail design industry's showcase of trend-setting work, has published an article on the Fischer Homes Lifestyle Design Center entitled "Home Work." One of our favorite recent projects, the Design Center is bigger and bolder than any other area facility of its kind. It allows future and current homeowners to make selections for their home from a wide array of choices. White Design created custom display systems to organize and show off product lines within a warm and inviting atmosphere. We're proud to have our work appear in VM+SD Magazine. Next time we're aiming for the cover!
White Design is proud to announce our latest accolade—a Cincinnati Magazine Interior Design Award recognizing our design for JP Flooring's new facility in West Chester. We've always thought it was some of our best work and apparently now it's confirmed. All the winners will be published in the November issue of Cincinnati Magazine - look for it on your newstands!

Well, here it is... our first BLOG! For the uninitiated, a blog (short for 'weblog') is an online journal that allows us to post 'entries' whenever we like. All of us at White Design have wanted a vehicle to inform and enlighten our friends, family, clients, vendors and anyone else who might be interested, as to what we're up to. The White Stuff is it! It might be the announcement of a new team member, a chance to show off some new projects that we are excited about or just a place to relay interesting news.
