Water World

Teachwater.jpg

A new site for a great line of environmental education displays developed and manufactured by long time friend and partner in boat restoration, Mike Strohm. Mike has been an avid environmentalist long before it was fashionable and has always loved educating kids and adults alike. He has developed a series of educational displays to illustrate key water conservation and environmental concepts.

There are three different products that Mike has developed:

The RiverLab interactive watershed table is a lightweight and portable stream demonstrator that combines a specially formulated mixture of natural sand with recirculating water for the purpose of showing real life river and watershed dynamics.

The KarstLab is a hands-on educational tool which uses specially formulated salt rocks and recirculating water to demonstrate the dissolution of limestone and the formation of sink holes, caverns and underground streams.

The CreekLab stream aquarium is a high-flow, natural replica of a riffle and pool section of a local stream. State-of-the-art aquarium components and natural streamscaping materials are combined to create a true-to-life aquatic ecosystem.

We helped Mike develop and name, product names and logos, and now a website. This is the start of something really big and we're proud to be on board. Visit the site now and get your feet wet.

Arty the Smarty

AristaSite.jpg

A new site for a multitalented artist in NYC. Arista Baltronis paints, sculpts and weaves a variety of mediums into works of art. This site uses Flash technology to create simple animations and navigation features. We wanted to make it look as handmade as possible to reinforce Arista's work. Take a look here.

Right on TRAK

Trak MRI Web.jpg

A new logo, business collteral for two offices and a pair of web sites makes for a complete new look for this local AND national recruiting and staffing firm. First we were asked to design a new mark for a local staffing firm that loosely tied it to a large national firm—OK, fine, we said— we can do that AND more!

My son's high school soccer coach and now client, Joe Mehl, brought this unique challenge into our studio and we've been delighted to work with him and our other new friends at MRI Management Recruiters, Cincinnati, and Trak Cincinnati. Now Joe has two Whites playing for him!

The new logo has been deployed and both sites are up and running. Check them out.

White Design Studio was up to the challenge - our extensive McCabe Lumber site has glossaries, photo galleries and links to manufacturers for everything in the McCabe Lumber showroom. You can also find showroom maps and a selection of informational blueprints! It's an informational smorgasborg as well as a graphic step ahead of the competition. Click here to visit!

New Environment for CECO Environmental website

CECO-Capture-2.jpg

When CECO Environmental came to us to help them with their new corporate website we had no idea the organizational challenge that awaited us. CECO has 11 divisions within it's family of companies. Many of the divisions actually sell and represent the same product lines, as well as many products and services that are unique to single divisions. As we began work on the CECO corporate website, we realized that many of the divisions' websites did not look like they belonged to the same parent company, and some of the divisions didn't even have a web presence at all. Our job was to bring all these divisions into the same look and feel, but also retain their individuality.

Using a "dual layered" navigation system, we've brought all the divisions into the fold of the parent company. Because the different divisions depend on each other we have made the jump from one division to another easy with the use of the "Main" navigation bar at the top of each page, while the second navigation bar allows each division to stand out on it's own.

Since implementing our design, there's no mistaking that the parent company of each division is CECO Environmental and that each division has access to the entire family of CECO companies. So CECO got an organizational makeover, and we get to show off a website we're proud of!
